How often do we agree to something and then notice at some point we are not entirely comfortable with what we have agreed to and yet still go through with it?

What’s happening in this dynamic?

How do we empower ourselves through establishing our boundaries and ensuring that we live our lives from a place of integrity through always being in authentic consent?

Jon and Elara will be explaining some of the theory behind Dr Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent model.

This model breaks-down our interactions into four categories:

• Giving
• Receiving
• Taking
• Allowing

In this talk they will examine these categories and the relationship between them.

Betty’s model was primarily developed to understand our touch interactions with others, but the beauty of it is that it can be used to go so much deeper and allow us to examine our preferred dynamic and choices in all our interactions, not only with individuals (family, friends, work colleagues and lovers) but also with society or even universally.

These choices may be conscious or sub-conscious and working with the model has enabled countless people (including Jon and Elara) to define a new relationship with themselves and to connect with, and understand, how they interact with others and the world around.

This event will not include touch but will give you an understanding of how the Wheel of Consent works and give you the opportunity to obtain an insight into your own interactions.

Speaker Profiles:

 Jon Gosling 

Jon is a co-founder of Sacred Light Tantra and an Energy Healer. His journey in connecting with spirit, energy and the power of our physical body has brought him to see the body as a gateway to access expanded states of being. He sees that everyone’s journey is unique and he is pleased to offer different modalities to support individuals, couples and groups in that journey to learn how to improve their relationship with themselves and the world around them.  He is passionate about the nurturing power of touch and is a somatic educator, Tantric practitioner and teacher, Reiki healer, medium, Certified Sexological Bodyworker, a trained sexologist and somatic educator and teaches the Law of Attraction.

Elara Evenstar 

Elara is a co-founder of Sacred Light Tantra which takes people on a journey towards intimacy, aliveness and integrating their spirituality and sexuality toward achieving higher consciousness. She is a Reiki Master, a medium, spiritual guide, and coach and also a Certified Sexological Bodyworker and Psychosexual Somatics Therapist.  With a grounding in both spirit and the body she brings these wisdoms into her Tantric teachings together with a mindfulness approach.  Her passion is helping people to let go of what stands in their way of full consciousness through emotional, energetic and  physical release.  The energy from emotions can get imprinted into our physical bodies as cellular memory, and Elara specialises in bodywork to support the release of this.  Elara is passionate in helping people work with what stops them from forming deep, meaningful and intimate relationships. She works with acceptance and love in all aspects of who you are and uses the power of Tantra to tansform and connect with the divine.  For it is only  when we are integrated and healed in both aspects of spirituality and sexuality that we can find true connection with our self and every aspect in the world around us.
